Eve and Lilith as Told in Charlie’s Storybook
In the first episode of Hazbin Hotel, Charlie Morningstar shared the story of hell through her book, which mentioned both Lilith and Eve’s names.
From the dusk of earth, the angels created Adam and Lilith as equals and the first of mankind. However, Adam demanded control, and Lilith refused to submit to his will and fled the garden.
Then, Lucifer was drawn in by Lilith’s fierce independence and eventually found her.
Both of these rebellious dreamers fell madly in love, and together they wish to show humanity the magic of free will by offering the fruit of knowledge to none other than Adam’s new bride, Eve.
Eve gladly accepted the fruit of knowledge, but everything changed. Her single act of disobedience led evil to earth, along with a new realm of darkness and sin.
Heaven punished Lucifer and Lilith for their reckless acts and banished them to the dark pit, never allowing them to see the good of humanity and only the cruel and the wicked.
While Lucifer lost his will to dream, Lilith stepped up to empower demonkind with her voice and songs.
So, Are Eve and Lilith the Same Person in Hazbin Hotel? Theories Explored
From the very beginning, Eve and Lilith are told as separate, distinct characters, which means they’re not the same, at least in Charlie’s storybook in Hazbin Hotel.
Still, there are a lot of fan theories regarding the relationship between the two or how they are connected.
One theory suggests that Eve is disguised as Lilith and that the former has kidnapped the latter, which explains why she has been missing in action for seven years.
Others believe that Eve is somewhere hiding in Hell after eating the fruit of knowledge.
They think that Eve is plotting revenge against Lilith and Lucifer for tempting her with the fruit and separating her from Adam.
On the other hand, some think that Eve is working with Lilith to destroy both heaven and hell.
There’s also another theory that says Eve will eventually assume the identity of Roo, short for the root of all evil, but for now, nothing has been confirmed.
