How Old Is Charlie From Hazbin Hotel? Every Speculation Explored
Biologically speaking, Charlie Morningstar has the appearance of a young woman in her 20s if her young-looking face and optimism are anything to go by. However, it is implied that she's much older, possibly 200 years old.
In the Prime Video animated TV series, Charlie displays the optimism and hope one would expect from a young adult character. Moreover, her voice sounds quite youthful.
Of course, appearances can be deceptive, and this is most likely true for Hazbin Hotel's heroine.
In a 2020 YouTube video, which is regretfully no longer available, Faustisse, a former Hazbin Hotel illustrator, shared some of their thoughts about Charlie's character.
Faustisse speculated that Charlie is around 200 years old. If this information is to be considered canon, Charlie could possibly age by a year over the span of around a decade.
This is supported by a family portrait of Charlie and her parents that appeared in one of the Hazbin Hotel pilot teasers back in 2020, on the official YouTube account of the project's animator, Vivienne Medrano, also known as VivziePop.
The portrait of the Morningstar family (known as the Magne family at the time) dates back to 1871. In it, Charlie appears younger than her present self.
While the pilot's final version did not include the portrait, its existence is a good indication of Charlie's possible age.
In a 2023 Q&A, VivziePop confirmed that demons age in "hell years," which confirms that Charlie ages more slowly than humans, although the exact timeline has not been specified.
Is Charlie From Hazbin Hotel Immortal?
Hazbin Hotel hasn't explicitly addressed whether Charlie is immortal, but she does age, albeit very slowly, leading us to believe that she could die after several centuries.
In a now-archived stream, former Hazbin Hotel illustrator Faustisse mentioned that Charlie is long-lived but not immortal.
As the daughter of Lucifer, a devil, and Lilith, who is theoretically a former human, it makes sense for Charlie not to be absolutely immortal, nor do we expect her to die anytime soon.
