General Hospital has a massive cast some of whom are related in real life. Following the premature death of GH actor David Gail, viewers are wondering whether David Gail and Max Gail are related.

What Were David Gail and Max Gail's General Hospital Roles?
David Gail, who recently passed away at the age of 58, is known for his role in the 1999-2000 General Hospital spin-off, Port Charles where he portrayed Dr Joe Scanlon.
He has previously appeared in Beverly Hills, 90210 as Stuart Carson.
The role had been previously held by Michael Dietz. In 2000, Alex Mendoza succeeded Gail in the role.
As for Max Gail, he portrayed Mike Corbin the father of mob boss Sonny Corinthos.
The two characters never coincided, as they were in the show in different decades.
Are David Gail and Max Gail Related?
There is no publicly available information to suggest that the late David Gail is related to actor Max Gail.
The two are not father and son; the 80-year-old Max Gail has three children, including Maxwell and Grace Gail with his second wife, Nan, and another daughter, India, from his first wife, Willie Bier, who died of cancer in 1986.
Max Gail and his second wife, Nan, also raised the latter's nephew, Delondon.
Gail does not have any other children. The possibility of a less direct familial relationship with David Gail, while plausible, is not confirmed.
That being said, a possible relation between the two is not an unusual assumption for viewers to make, given that General Hospital and its spin-offs have span entire decades and some of its actors have been related.
For instance, Lily Anne Harrison, who appeared in General Hospital as Andrea Gates and has now left the show is the daughter of actor Gregory Harrison (Trapper John, M.D.)
Lily Anne Harrison's father also had a General Hospital stint before her, in 2020, portraying Gregory Chase.
As of writing, no similar relation between actors David Gale and Max Gail is known.
