Originally set to premiere during the spring 24 season, the Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings anime has just been delayed, and a new release window was shared.

This anime’s delay came as a surprise to many, especially considering that it has been nearly a year since the anime was originally announced.

The delay was announced via the show’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. Interestingly, the announcement was made in both Japanese and English, explaining why the show’s premiere was moved.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings Staff Explains Delay

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is an anime by Doga Kobo, the studio behind Oshi no Ko, My Senpai is Annoying, and Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie.

Many romance anime are based on manga titles, but this show is based on an ongoing light novel series that’s published by Kadokawa. The novels are fairly popular in Japan with over 500,000 copies.

Sadly, fans of the series will have to wait a bit longer to see the anime. That’s because the show’s premiere has been postponed by one season, meaning fans will have to wait for three extra months before its release.

Based on the official announcement, the anime was delayed to “make it more enjoyable for everyone.”

This likely means the show’s creators need more time to work on and polish the anime. After all, this is usually the case whenever an anime gets delayed.

Delays aren’t ideal for fans, but the fact that Alya is one of the few to have been delayed for long is a good sign. After all, last year’s winter season was brutal as it saw lots of high-profile delays.

New Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings Anime Release Window Revealed

The Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian anime was announced back in March 2023. At the time, no trailer was released for it.

Since then, more info about the show was shared, including the fact that Sumire Uesaka (Lum in Urusei Yatsura) will play the role of Alya; a perfect fit given that Uesaka is noted to be a Russian culture enthusiast.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings has a lot going for it, but fans will need to wait until July 2024 for it to premiere.

For now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date. There’s also no info on a streaming platform partner for the series outside of Japan.
