What Is Urusei Yatsura About?
The anime centers around the tumultuous life of Ataru Moroboshi, an incredibly unfortunate and overtly lecherous young man.
As aliens launch an invasion of Earth, fate randomly selects Ataru to safeguard the planet through a game of the aliens’ beloved national sport called tag.
While the stakes involve the salvation of the world, Ataru’s personal motivations stem from far less noble impulses, especially when pitted against the voluptuous alien princess, Lum.
The gripping match spans 10 intense days, culminating in a dramatic climax where Ataru, driven by the promise of marriage and the anticipation of a wedding night, finally manages to tag Lum.
However, in the jubilation of his victory, Ataru’s excitement about his forthcoming marriage is misconstrued by Lum as a genuine marriage proposal.
Without hesitation, Lum, agrees, thus commencing their unconventional marriage journey.
The anime is based on the Urusei Yatsura manga authored and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi.
Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Release Guide: When Is It Coming Out?
Urusei Yatsura Season 2 is confirmed to be released on January 11, 2024. It was also revealed that the anime will air for two consecutive cours next year.
This means that the second season will comprise 23 episodes, similar to the first season, which aired from October 2022 to March 2023.
