Jacen Syndulla made his live-action debut in the third episode of Ahsoka with Evan Whitten playing the role. This followed his introduction in the final episode of Rebels where they revealed that his parents Hera and Kanan Jarrus conceived a child together.

Throughout his appearances so far, the series has been toying with Jacen's Force-sensitive skills and potentially following his father's footsteps in the future as they continue to explore the possibility of him taking the path of the Jedi.

One thing's for sure is that Jacen has a bigger role than what we might have expected before and it's interesting to see where they will go with him in the rest of the season or the future seasons.

In an interview with the Dagobah Dispatch podcast (via The Direct), Hera Syndulla actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead opened up about her excitement over Jacen's live-action debut in Ahsoka and praised Whitten's performance as the character.

She said, "And my son Jacen, played by Evan [Whitten], it was so great to see him interact as well, because you know having a child around you has like that imagination so fresh in him that he can look at Chopper and see something real was also kind of infectious to just be around, and I couldn’t help but feel that he was real to me too."

When asked about whether there are days on the set that sticks out to her, Winstead didn't give a definite answer but instead pointed out how the series is carrying out all seasons of Rebels.

"There were several, there’s one that, I don’t want to give anything away, but it was kind of carrying all the seasons of Rebels into it," she said.

"And kind of the emotional history of that, as well as everything that happened between the end of Rebels and the beginning of our show, and getting to kind of bring all of that to fruition and a satisfying way, and that was really amazing to get to do."

Jacen's presence in the series also helped the actress feel in awe of experiencing working on Star Wars through the actor's eyes and helped her give a new perspective.

"And also just really anything I got to do with Jacen because I got to live through his awe of everything that he got to see and to experience Star Wars through a child’s eyes is something really, really special." Winstead added.

"And it just kind of sheds a whole new light on everything and you just go ‘Wow, this really is the most special thing in the world.' So when you get to see it through his eyes and his absolute wonder is amazing."

We can safely say at this point that feel the same way towards Jacen's presence in the series so far as the exploration of his Force-sensitive skills has excited a lot of fans and are looking forward to seeing where it will head next.

There are also a lot of questions on who will eventually be Jacen's Jedi master once he decides to do formal training whether it is Ezra Bridger, Ahsoka Tano, or even Luke Skywalker himself although that could also indicate a grim fate. Nevertheless, it is exciting to see where it all goes.
