Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Ahsoka Episode 3, so read at your own risk!

In the epilogue of the final episode of Rebels, it was revealed that Hera Syndulla gave birth to her son with Kanan Jarrus, Jacen Syndulla. He mostly has human features like his father while the color of his eyes and hair were inherited from his mother.

Considering that the new series Ahsoka is set several years after the events of the animated series and will feature the return of Hera, a lot of fans have presumed that they will also bring back Jacen and show us in his late childhood age.

Fortunately, the third episode confirmed what fans had suspected as it marked the live-action debut of Jacen with Evan Whitten playing the role. He showed up for a quick scene where he shared his major ambition with his mother.

Before he officially showed up during the third episode of Ahsoka, Jacen's presence was already hinted at in an earlier scene when Mon Mothma mentioned him during the opening pleasantries of her meeting with Hera and the other senators.

After a tense exchange in the meeting, Hera exited the room where she was quickly greeted by her son and Chopper. He was still sporting green hair just like the last time we saw him in Rebels.

During his quick moment in the episode, Jacen told his mother his ambition of becoming a Jedi after hearing from Chopper that his "Aunt Sabine" was training under Ahsoka Tano as well as presumably following the footsteps of his father.

Hera simply responded by patting the head of her son and said with a smile, "I know you do, Jacen."

While it was a simple moment that didn't necessarily contribute to the overall story of the episode, it is also potentially a hint of their plans for Jacen in the future of the franchise which is his destiny of becoming a Jedi.

Given that he has a strong ambition at such a young age and his father was a Jedi himself, it seems to be his inevitable fate at some point and it won't be surprising if the subsequent episodes will explore that aspect of the character and potentially reveal that he is also Force-sensitive.

Nevertheless, it was a great reintroduction of the character as it shows us a promise of what we could see in the future not just in Ahsoka, but the franchise moving forward as it further explores this timeline.

New episodes of Ahsoka premiere every Tuesday night on Disney+.
