Hayden Christensen made his highly-anticipated return as Anakin Skywalker during the final moments of the fourth episode of Ahsoka where the titular character found herself in the World Between Worlds and reunited with her old master.

In the following episode, Anakin explained to his former padawan that he showed up to give her a "final lesson" after deducing that she still had guilt over the events that happened in the past that led them to drive apart.

Their reunion in the World Between Worlds led to flashbacks to the Clone Wars era when they were younger and a couple of lightsaber fights. In the end, Ahsoka was able to realize that she had nothing to do with Anakin's downfall and she returned back to the surface.

Since Anakin's last appearance in the fifth episode, fans have been wondering whether he will return again in the later episodes and there were rumors that he is expected to make more appearances.

Fortunately, the penultimate episode gave us a brief comeback of the titular character's former master albeit in a hologram form.

At the beginning of the seventh episode, Ahsoka is seen practicing different lightsaber moves as they prepare for their arrival in Peridea and hopefully find Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger.

A hologram of Clone Wars-era Anakin Skywalker was also playing as if he was watching and training her in person. He was giving her lessons that included mentions of familiar characters such as Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress.

As Huyang entered the area to inform Ahsoka that their hyperspace trip with the Purrgils was about to end, the hologram also ended playing. Ahsoka shared with Huyang that it was the last lesson that he recorded for her.

While it was a brief appearance, it was still great to see Christensen show up again in the series and give us another glimpse of his Clone Wars-era Anakin that we know and love from the animated series.

It looks like Ahsoka's journey in the World Between Worlds was really able to heal some past wounds for her since she happily played the training hologram of her old master again and relieved their lessons prior to embarking on a critical mission.

It is likely that we will see him again in the season finale and, if the rumors are true, there is a chance that his next appearance will be as a Force ghost which will excite fans once again.

New episodes of Ahsoka premiere every Tuesday night on Disney+.
