The final moments of the fourth episode of Ahsoka got a lot of fans excited as it marked Hayden Christensen's long-awaited first appearance in the series as Anakin Skywalker, the titular character's former mentor.

While we have seen the two characters spend a lot of time together in animated shows, it is the first time that we see them share a scene in live-action and fans are now excited to see how the fifth episode will explore their relationship.

With his return to the Star Wars franchise in Obi-Wan Kenobi last year and now his guest appearance in Ahsoka, it is also a celebration of Christensen's return to the spotlight since we haven't seen him in a lot of high-profile projects for the last 15 years.

It is unknown yet how big Christensen's screen time will be in the series aside from the fifth episode, but fans are happy nevertheless and they are hoping that he will be a recurring presence in the franchise again from now on.

Speaking with IGN, Peter Ramsey, who directed the fourth episode of Ahsoka, opened up about filming Christensen's return to the series where he shared a story of how special the moment was for the actor when he was on the set.

"He’s a really sweet, low-key guy. He was pretty happy about being there after all this time. It had a lot of meaning for him," he said.

"We just talked about what it's like for him to be seeing Ahsoka after all this time, that it's a reunion for them. And I just told him, 'It's like you haven't seen your daughter in two years. She'd gone off to college and you're seeing her again and she's like a different person but still your daughter.'"

While we don't know yet until tonight how Christensen's full episode appearance will fare well, it is just exciting to see him return and play the prequel trilogy era of his iconic character again.

Based on Ramsey's comments, it sounded like the actor was also as excited as fans are about his appearance in the series and he is very much aware of his character's extensive history with Ahsoka Tano.

Since the actors' strike is happening and the cast is not allowed to promote or discuss their projects, we will never know for now what Christensen exactly feels regarding his appearance in the series, but from what we're hearing, it sounded like it was another great experience following Obi-Wan Kenobi.

New episodes of Ahsoka premiere every Tuesday night on Disney+.
