Even though it has been nearly seven years since the manga ended, Acma:Game is getting interest again. That’s because NTV recently announced that the Acma:Game manga is getting a live-action series adaptation.

Details about the show were revealed recently via its official website. There, a teaser visual was shared featuring the main character, Teruaki Oda.

There’s no trailer for this upcoming TV drama yet, but fans can expect to see one soon. After all, the show’s premiere is just a few months away.

Acma:Game Live-Action TV Drama Adaptation Revealed With Teaser Visual

The Acma:Game manga was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, and it had a pretty good run as it was serialized from April 2013 to April 2017.

Despite doing well during its run, the manga has not gotten an anime adaptation. Thus, the manga didn’t get much attention after its run.

That will likely change soon though, as a live-action TV drama adaptation has just been announced, which is set to air soon in Japan.

The announcement came with a teaser visual that revealed actor Shotaro Mamiya has been cast as the protagonist, Teruaki Oda.

Some anime fans may be familiar with Mamiya as he plays Tetta Kisaki in the live-action Tokyo Revengers movies. He also voiced Yukinori Sawabe in the Blue Giant anime film.

For now, there’s no word yet on the rest of the series’ cast members. We’re likely going to get an announcement soon given that its premiere is just a few months away.

Live-Action Acma:Game Series Gets April Release Date

Even though the Acma:Game manga isn’t the most popular Shonen Magazine title, it is surprisingly available in English as part of the K Manga service’s lineup.

As for its story, the series follows Teruaki Oda, a high school senior gifted with looks, brains, and a lot of money. His luck soon turns though, as he is caught in a dangerous survival game with the son of a mafia family boss.

For those who want to watch this series in live-action instead of reading it in manga form, the Acma:Game drama will premiere on NTV in April 2024.

As with other live-action dramas adapted from manga like Ya Boy Kongming!, this series will likely be released in Japan only.

Of course, there are some exceptions as Netflix has released some Japanese live-action dramas previously like the Kimi ni Todoke series.
