After sharing a new trailer for the anime recently, Netflix announced the Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead live-action movie’s August release date. The streaming giant also shared the film’s official poster.
While zombie live-action movies are a dime a dozen nowadays, Zom 100 promises to be a different and more lighthearted take on the genre.
Sure, zombies are still out for human flesh, but the protagonist is actually happy with this apocalypse.
Netflix Shares First Official Zom 100 Live-Action Film Poster
Zom 100 is based on the manga of the same name by Haro Aso, the creator of the Alice in Borderland manga.
Given how big of a success the live-action Alice in Borderland series is for Netflix, it should come as no surprise that they are aiming to recapture the show’s magic with Zom 100.
Though instead of being a series, Zom 100 is a live-action film.
This new movie stars Eiji Akaso (Ryuga Banjou in Kamen Rider Build) as Akira, and he is joined by Mai Shiraishi (Erenika in Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween) as the main heroine Shizuka Mikazuki.
Other members of the cast were also revealed, and they are Shuntaro Yanagi (Renji in the Tokyo Ghoul live-action film) as Kencho Ryuuzaki, as well as Kazuki Kitamura (Sabato in the Blade of the Immortal movie) as Gonzo Kosugi.
Aside from a live-action movie, Haro Aso’s zombie apocalypse manga is also getting an anime that will also be streamed on Netflix.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead Live-Action Gets Release Date
It was revealed that the Zom 100 movie will be streamed exclusively on Netflix beginning this August. Though the anime will start its broadcast a bit earlier.
Specifically, the Zom 100 anime will be released on Hulu and Netflix in the US beginning July 9, 2023.
As with the live-action film, the upcoming anime will also feature several well-known stars, including Makoto Furukawa (Saitama in One-Punch Man) and Tomori Kusunoki (Makima in Chainsaw Man), among others.
While they’ll be based on the same source material, it’ll be interesting to see how the two adaptations will differ, especially considering the film will have to either adapt only a certain part or cut out some content to fit the runtime.
We won’t have to wait too long to find out though, as the Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead live-action movie will be released on Netflix on August 3, 2023.
