A lot of MCU fans are looking forward to Deadpool 3. Not only because Ryan Reynolds' titular mercenary is finally making his jump to the MCU, but it will also bring back Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and finally team up with the hero after years of teasing.
We also know that some of the key characters from the first two films are also returning although the two characters that we haven't heard any updates on are Domino (Zazie Beetz) and Cable (Josh Brolin) from the second movie.
For months, Beetz has played coy on her potential return as Domino and she continues to be missing on any reports regarding the film's casting. Now, the record has finally been straight whether she will reprise the role.
Zazie Beetz Will Not Return as Domino in Deadpool 3
Unfortunately, in an interview with Decider, Beetz confirmed that she will not be reprising the role of Domino in Deadpool 3. However, she is still excited about what the film has in store.
"Well I’m actually not in Deadpool 3, so I don’t know what they’re doing [about improvisation]. I’m assuming they’re probably taking a pause. […] I’m excited to watch it," she said.
It is unknown yet why Beetz will not be returning to the film. There is the likelihood that there was either a scheduling conflict or her character is not included at all in the script.
In the case of Brolin's Cable, there is no definitive confirmation yet whether he will also be part of the film although there is a likelihood now that he won't also return due to the lack of updates about his potential involvement.
However, as we've also seen in the MCU's past, there is still a possibility that Beetz could appear in the film later on if they decide to include her character last minute for a cameo or post-credits scene. There is also a chance that Beetz was lying due to the secrecy of her involvement.
As the film is reportedly in production at the moment, we should be hearing news and updates regarding the project in the coming weeks or months and whether more characters from the past X-Men films will also cameo in the threequel.
