After much anticipation, Zack Snyder's Justice League will finally be making its way to HBO Max next year. Now that the Snyder Cut is official, is it possible for the director to return and make a sequel?

In a recent appearance on The Reel in Motion roundtable, Snyder talks about the possibility of a Justice League sequel. "When I made the movie, the design of the movie, I always thought we would do this movie and I'd be setting up a bunch of stuff for what would come after it," he said. "It is what it is. I'm not expecting."

The director admits he doesn't know what's going to happen yet, but he did make it clear that he isn't expecting Warner Bros to ask him to make another film. The original movie also teased the future of Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, which hasn't been explored until now. "There is a whole Lex Luthor concept I had that would unfold over a longer narrative trajectory," Snyder adds. "I don't know, we'll see."

It took years to finally get the Snyder Cut released, so if a sequel is actually in the works, it may be a while before it comes into fruition. While there's no word from Warner Bros. just yet, it seems like Snyder is open to returning based on his comments. For now, fans can look forward to Snyder's Justice League, with a trailer that was recently released at DC FanDome giving a glimpse of the changes to come in his version.

Zack Snyder's Justice League is set for release on HBO Max sometime in 2021.
