Zachary Levi Needed Someone to Help Him Pee in His Shazam! Costume

The Shazam! trailer had a small joke about Billy Batson not knowing how to pee in the Captain Marvel costume, but as it turns out, it was a meta jab at actor Zachary Levi's actual issue of using the restroom in the suit.

Talking to Yahoo! Entertainment, Levi reveals:

"It's kind of a pain in the ass to go to the restroom [in it]…It requires an assistant, I'm not lying. I would have to sit down and spread my legs and they would have to unzip me."

As for taking dumps, it's an entirely new story:

"If I needed to drop a deuce I had to take the whole thing off."

Though Marvel Studios gives their characters updated modern looks for their superhero costumes, it's amazing that the DCEU manages to make comic-accurate outfits that don't look silly at all. Shazam's outfit in the movie is a hundred percent faithful to the comic, but Levi looks absolutely cool in it. It also helps that he had to get crazy in shape to be able to get the part.

Though Aquaman may have been the highlight of DCEU's Hall H panel, I'll have to admit I'm kind of more hyped for the Shazam! movie. No offense to Jason Momoa, but I would actually love to see a DCEU film that was meant to be lighter from the very beginning. I have a feeling Aquaman was a lot more serious before they ‘repurposed' him for Justice League.

Catch Shazam! in theaters April 5, 2019.
