Xbox Live is Coming to iOS, Android, and...Nintendo Switch?!

Well, ain't that a shocker? A description of Microsoft's panel in the 2019 Game Developer's Conference has stated that Xbox Live is about to expand in ways no one has ever imagined. If the article's title wasn't a dead giveaway, the online service will be coming to iOS, Android, and, of all things, Nintendo Switch. That last part isn't a joke, as the GDC description specifically mentions Nintendo's hybrid console, which is insane.

Polygon tried to get more out of Microsoft but the company stated that they had nothing else to share at this time. Obviously, this is very exciting news since it shows that Microsoft wants to expand the Xbox's reach to other platforms and this could be a huge step into that, which would, once again, be insane.

No concrete details have been given but fans have had one thing on their mind ever since the news broke; Xbox One games on Switch? The lack of concrete details probably means that we will likely get more intuitive cross-platform play between all of these platforms, though one can dream. I mean, who doesn't want to play Cuphead on the Nintendo Switch?

Microsoft and Nintendo already allow cross-play for several games, including Fortnite, Rocket League, and Minecraft. Sony is still a bit slow on the process, though they seem to be getting there with each passing day. Hopefully, all of these publishers will learn how to play and share together.

Expect even bigger news when the GDC starts. It starts on March 18 and ends on March 22.
