X-Men '97 will reportedly introduce new costumes for the heroes when they return for season 2, which is currently in the works.
The first season has been receiving glowing reviews from both critics and fans since the series premiered a few weeks ago as they praised its balance of nostalgia and contemporary take on the iconic heroes.
Fortunately, Marvel Animation is already working on season 2 of the series although it recently had a massive behind-the-scenes setback as showrunner Beau DeMayo was fired before the premiere.

X-Men '97 is Rumored to Introduce New Costumes in Season 2
According to insider @CanWeGetSomeToast on X, the first season finale of X-Men '97 will end with the heroes receiving new costumes heading into season 2.
So far, none of the people involved in the series has confirmed the claims that were made in the scoop.
The alleged new costume upgrade for the heroes may come as a surprise or an upsetting development for some fans since they would have loved to see the series maintain the look of the characters.
The new series has already upgraded the character and costume design of the main heroes compared to the original series and now it looks like it will happen again in the new season.
It is unknown yet what kind of new costumes will the characters get in season 2 whether it's in their regular costumes or the team uniform which itself is an iconic part of the X-Men world.
Perhaps there will also be a narrative explanation for the costume change when we watch the first season finale in a few weeks and we will be able to understand the context of why the characters are going to wear new costumes.
