The recently-aired episode 4 of X-Men '97 ended on a massive cliffhanger for Storm as she continues her attempt to restore her powers.
The second half of the episode titled "Lifedeath - Part 1" followed up on the final scene of the third episode where Storm was offered help from Forge to bring back her powers and become a mutant again.

X-Men '97 Episode 4 Concludes with Storm Encountering the Adversary
The segment, which is based on the infamous "Lifedeath" storyline in the comics, saw Storm spending time with Forge on his ranch as they attempt to restore her powers.
The two characters are notably getting closer with hints of a potential romantic relationship forming between them just like in the comics.
Storm underwent a procedure to restore her powers by going through Forge's machine. However, it was unsuccessful.
Forge admitted that the anti-mutant depowering weapon that X-Cutioner used was based on the early designs that he made when he was recruited by the government years ago.
As expected, Storm was enraged by Forge's admission and she tried to flee from the ranch.
However, she was suddenly brought back to the ranch by the Adversary, a powerful demon.
The episode concluded with a massive cliffhanger for Storm as she found herself facing off against the demon and left fans wondering what would happen to the character next.
Considering that the segment has "Part 1" in the title, it's not surprising that it ended on a cliffhanger although fans have to wait for two weeks before they can see the resolution since next week's episode will focus on a different story.
