Even though Jubilee wants to spend time at the arcade or play video games at home, Roberto warns her that she may have to grow up starting today.

Jubilee clarifies that all she wants is one day without worrying about the Professor and any other enemies they have to fight on her special day.

Well, either way, Jubilee does end up getting her wish when a strange video game console takes her and Roberto into its world, a world, as it turns out, that's controlled by one of the X-Men supervillains, Mojo.

Jubilee and Roberto keep running into different eras of arcade games and eventually get swooped out of it by what seems to be their ally inside it. Behold, an older version of Jubilee. But what's her deal? How did she get there?

"You gotta test a game before launch," the old Jubilee explains, "Running endless trial loops with you two [with Roberto] was too risky."

The newly turned 18-year-old Jubilee then understands that the supervillain Mojo needs beta testers aka "digital replicas" of Jubilee to "test" his game of deception.

The old Jubilee was the only digital replica of her left in the game. Being a veteran of Mojo's game, she was their only hope of escaping.

However, apart from being their savior out of the game, the old Jubilee warns her younger self that even if there's a part of her that wants to stay and play Mojo's video games all day long, she has to grow up at some point.

In this case, there is no life in video games. "Living doesn't get cheat codes or extra lives," the old Jubilee says, "But it has friends and family. Life's a total risk and it's on you. Take it."
