X-Force Director Loved How the X-Force was Handled in Deadpool 2

[WARNING: SPOILERS FOR DEADPOOL 2]

Deadpool 2 introduced us to the X-Force, but it took us completely by surprise when it had all almost all the members die save for Domino. Drew Goddard is going to handle the X-Force film, and he says that he loved how the team was handled in the movie.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Goddard said:

"To be honest, I think that's why it excited me so much. I remember reading that scene and just cackling with delight, specifically because it was the very last thing you'd expect to happen in one of these movies. These movies are so careful to set up the next thing and the next thing, and it made me so happy."

As for X-Force, Goddard confirms that the core members will be Domino, Cable, and Deadpool with some new members joining the roster as well. I have no doubt that we'll be getting an appearance from Colossus and Negasonic again, though. If we're lucky they may even introduce a new Psylocke—one more interesting than Olivia Munn's from X-Men: Apocalypse.

Deadpool 2 is currently lighting up the box office, and has even put a dent on the success of Lucasfilm's Solo: A Star Wars Story. We don't know exactly how X-Force plans to follow up on the story, but I'm excited to see Deadpool interact with more characters this time around.

No release date has been set for X-Force, but you can catch Deadpool 2 in theaters now.
