Timothée Chalamet plays a young Willy Wonka. “I’m something of a magician, inventor, and chocolate maker,” Willy says in the trailer.

Chalamet is known for his roles as Elio Perlman in Call Me by Your Name, Theodore “Laurie” Laurence in 2019’s Little Women, and Paul Atreides in Dune. He also starred in the films Lady Bird, The French Dispatch, and Don't Look Up.

Hugh Grant joins the cast of Wonka as an Oompa-Loompa.

Grant is known for his roles in romantic comedy films, including Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Love Actually, and Music and Lyrics. He won the Golden Globe and BAFTA Award for Best Actor for his role in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Grant also recently starred in the film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, where he played the villain Forge Fitzwilliam.

Calah Lane plays a young orphan named Noodle. She becomes an ally to Willy, and according to director Paul King, “She knows what this world is like in a way that Willy doesn't” (via Empire).

Lane has appeared in the film The Day Shall Come and the series Family Reunion.
