Roald Dahl's classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory book is a children's book that tells the moral story of how children who are honest and well-behaved will always be rewarded.

Charlie Bucket was always the only kid who ever made it safely throughout the entire book. As much as eerie as that sounded, the Depp-led film was rated unsuitable for kids aged 10 years old and below.

Considering the horrifying things that the 2005 kids went through in the chocolate factory, it wouldn't be exactly a cup of tea for most kids, but will this factor in on whether the Wonka movie is rated the same?

This is a first for a Timothée Chalamet-led movie, but according to the MPA rating, the musical prequel film has a PG rating for "some violence, mild language, and thematic elements."

Based on what the Wonka trailer showed, the most we could expect is when the chocolates Wonka makes have different effects on a variety of people, depending on which type they choose to get from his cluster.

There was even a scene where Wonka and a kid are seemingly trapped in a room that's about to be filled with chocolate, threatening their lives at stake, where they could possibly drown.

Now that that's out of the way, here's what you can expect in the Wonka movie.

Wonka is a Musical Prequel Movie Spawned From the Originals

The Wonka movie has been confirmed to be a prequel film. As in before the events of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie occurred.

However, what remains to be seen is whether we're getting a straight prequel story that would directly tie in or connect to the Tim Burton film, especially since the original had had their sprinkled backstory about Willy Wonka's beginning.

The 2005 film had Wonka raised under a strict dentist for a parent who wanted nothing to do with sugar, to perfect his teeth and get rid of the cavities.

As for the Wonka film, though, we saw a glimpse of Sally Hawkins' role as Willy's mother, who's been seemingly portrayed to encourage her son to pursue his dreams.

If we take that into account, then this time, the prequel stands for what inspired the genius chocolate inventor to kickstart his career, instead of what extinguished his dream in the first place.

The official synopsis for the Wonka movie reads:

Based on the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, “Wonka” tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.
