Wonder Woman Actor was Originally the Villain for Bond 25

Danny Boyle was originally set to direct the 25th Bond movie, but he eventually left the project due to creative differences. As it turns out, the movie had originally planned for Wonder Woman's Said Taghmaoui to play the villain.

Talking to The National, Taghmaoui explained:

"We don't know who the director will be, and the producers don't know if they're going to go Russian or Middle East with the baddie right now. I literally just received a message saying: ‘If they go Middle East, it's you. If they go Russian, it's someone else.' It's the story of my life. Always on that line between something that could change my life and something that disappears."

It's been rumored for a while that the movie was looking for a female antagonist for Bond 25, and a lot of clues had been pointing to the role going to Helena Bonham Carter. Of course, those plans didn't seem to push through, and the film is currently in a state of limbo until MGM finds a new director.

Despite the director shake-up, Bond 25 manages to keep its release date. Catch it in theaters Nov. 8, 2019.
