Wonder Egg Priority Episode 10 has a lot to answer for. After a relatively light-hearted recap episode, Episode 9 came out, and the psychological anime was its usual scary and traumatic self. As always, there was some hope there too, and finally some hints at the nature of the eggs and the dream worlds. Here's all you need to know before the released date of Wonder Egg Priority Episode 10:

Wonder Egg Priority Overview and Episode 9 Recap

Wonder Egg Priority is an originalanime by Studio CloverWorks, written by Shinji Nojima. It follows Ai Ooto, who is devasted following the suicide of her best friend, Koito. In her dream world, she becomes a magical girl capable of saving people who have committed suicide and setting them free. For each person she frees, she comes closer to saving Koito.

Soon, she's joined by Neiru, Rika, and Momoe, three very different girls, who only have one something in common: they've all lost a friend to suicide and believe the dream world of wonder eggs will allow them to reunite.

Warning: If you haven't watched Episode 9 yet, you might want to skip to the next session as there will be spoilers here.

In true Wonder Egg fashion, Episode 9 was an emotional rollercoaster. The usually reclusive Neiru invites the girls to her place, much to their surprise. Neiru lives in a company, where she has an important position even though she's a young girl like the rest of our main characters.

As we explore Neiru's home life, we learn more about her. In a previous episode, Neiru had mentioned she doesn't have parents, likely causing her friends to assume she was orphaned. Now we find out the case is more complicated.

Neiru is a member of society only people with extremely high IQ can join. It turns out that she was born artificially via insemination of a member she doesn't even know, so she never had parents.

The girls have a fun day together in Neiru's room, until she decides to show them to her friend: Kotobuki was an extremely intelligent girl who lived and worked in the same company doing scientific research. Near-death experiences were her area of interest, but this didn't work well for her: after a failed experiment she became comatose, kept alive by machines.

Neiru reveals that after Kotobuki's accident, the two were able to meet in the dream world Neiru accesses via wonder eggs. Her best friend was obsessed with fantastic worlds and viewed death as just another adventure, rather than a final state. She's certain she'll meet Neiru in another universe, but for the moment, she wants Neiru to cut her life support.

Ai, Rika and Momoe are horrified. The latter two leave, refusing to be a part of that but Ai stays to support Neiru. Neiru reveals that Kotobuki is never going to wake up and that her biggest fear was a rival, an adult scientist, who would take her body to study it. Eventually, Ai agrees to stay and they cut Kotobuki's life support together.

Meanwhile, Rika and Momoe go to meet Acca and Ura-Acca to buy eggs. Before approaching them, they find out that the mysterious entities are acquainted with a woman who works in Neiru's company. Acca and Ura-Acca are cryptic, but imply they're the real reason behind the girls' suicides. It also looks like they're the ones programming the eggs to show our main characters, specifically girls.

This is definitely the richest episode in the show thus far, and a rewatch is definitely needed to make sense of everything that is happening. Who are Acca and Ura-Acca and what has really happened to all the girls who committed suicide, including Ai's friend, Koito?

The first Seasonof Wonder Egg Priority will only have 12-episodes which seems very little, though the creators might manage if the next episodes are so full of revelations too.
