Marvel is known for its surprises in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sometimes when we least expect it, something arrives. However, for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, they seem to have left us hints on how to answer the question of will there be a Season 2 as these breadcrumb trails of clues seem to answer that there would be.

If you've been living in a cave, quick preview of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier puts the best friends of Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, together in pursuit of who gets to carry the legacy of the shield and of course, it wouldn't be a great show without our heroes having to face their foes like the Flag Smashers, or just their daily life struggles like Bucky's mental health and Sam's family being broke.

Of course, throughout the canon series we get introduced to various characters like Joaquin Torres who constantly helps Sam giving him information, the new Captain America the government has put in place, John Walker, and his partner Battlestar, Lemar Hoskins, the forgotten super soldier in history, Isaiah Bradley, and the most recent addition, the surprise character Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

Recurring characters also gave the story more depth by returning to the MCU like Sharon Carter found in the lawless place called Madripoor, Baron Zemo who kind of became an ally or a tour guide as he referred to himself, villain Batroc the Leaper who turned up for two episodes already, and the amazing Wakandan women, the Dora Milaje.

So far, with five episodes out, the story continues to unfold and it seems that six episodes are too short for the partners, co-workers, Sam and Bucky, and for the rest of the characters to have their own spotlight, like the Flag Smashers trying to prove a point of one world, one people, John Walker on his quest to proving himself that he is a hero, not a villain, and possibly taking on the persona of the US Agent, and more.

Remember breadcrumb trails of hints? Well, first is the Emmys category where The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is submitted to. There is a limited or anthology TV series category in the Emmys and WandaVision was put in place there which is conclusive that it has only one season as it turns out to be the embrace of Wanda's powers and becoming Scarlet Witch leading to a film: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

As for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it is under Best Drama Series category. Well, it isn't a surprise they wouldn't want both shows to compete for one category as both are amazing on their own but it also indicates that there is more to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, that there is a second season. Sure, the series really has in it the perfect balance of action and drama, but wait, there's more.

Another is when Marvel Studios' Vice President for Production and Development and Executive Producer of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier had an interview with IndieWire as regards the Emmys classification of the series, Nate Moore said, "Hopefully at the end of this season, you will see the potential for what we could tell in a subsequent season."

While it is not a direct confirmation that there would really be a second season, it seems kind of an indirect clue that there are plans for it. Moore talked about how the series is about the legacy of the shield through the perspective of various characters and added, "that's a story I think you can revisit in subsequent seasons because it's an evergreen story. It's a conversation."

If that doesn't convince you yet that there is more for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in the works, just focus on the story and you'll see how six episodes are really not enough to tell all the wonderful stories the series has to offer, not fitting for a one-off. And yes, some series may lead into films and others for another series but this one stands on its own, like its own animal.

With the MCU expanding to the small screen, it opens up the possibilities of these shows to have more than what they could have in a film. It gives these characters an avenue to tell their own narrative, to share their side of the coin.

Whether there would be a second season of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is anyone's guess, with Marvel, anything is possible.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Finale arrives on Friday, at 3 AM, only on Disney+.
