Even though the lead actress of the film was Jennifer Garner, it wasn't enough to convince moviegoers to give her new movie a shot. But thanks to streaming platform, Netflix, the film got a second chance in 2020 and was even among those that film fanatics enjoyed watching. But is this enough for the film to get a sequel?

Will There Be a Peppermint 2 Movie?
When Peppermint was first released in 2018, the movie didn't do well in theaters, which is why many considered it to be a flop. The main reason for its failure was that the movie didn't really do so well.
And it wasn't at all the former Alias star's fault. Garner continues to do a pretty good job in her films and shows. It's just that Peppermint's lack of cohesiveness failed it big time.
If the film did poorly in the box office charts, why are people asking if there will be a sequel? It's mainly because the film got a second chance when it reached the streaming platform, Netflix, in 2020. And now that the film is on HBO, new viewers will likely ask the same question.
The producers did not intend the movie to have a sequel as there weren't any plans to do one when the movie was released. However, the plot had a number of loose ends that made viewers wish for answers.
During its premiere in Los Angeles, Garner's long-time stunt double, Shauna Diggins, expressed her desire for the film to become a franchise like Taken.
"Don't we all dream that it can be? Absolutely. I mean, look at Taken. It was phenomenal and then they did two more. Jen can pull it off, obviously."
The director, Pierre Morel, reportedly tried to start a franchise with Peppermint. Although he had much success with his Taken films, luck isn't on his side with Peppermint.
So will there be a sequel for Peppermint? There is always that possibility for a sequel. But for now, no official announcement has been made.
