Netflix's newest South Korean action thriller has been released and it's taking the internet by storm. Although the story is very simple, many can't help but have a few questions about the ending of the movie. More importantly, fans are asking for a prequel that will explain some of the essential questions that were never discussed in the movie.

Case in point, who was Gil Jae-Young's (played by Kim Si-A) biological father? Although many believe it could have been Gil Bok-Soon's (played by Jeon Do-Yeon) boss, Cha Min-Kyu (played by Sol Kyung-Gu), we aren't on board with that theory.

With all of these lingering questions, we can't help but ask whether there'll be a sequel to the movie. Here's what we know so far.

Since Kill Boksoon came out on Netflix less than a week ago, it's still too early to tell if a decision on its renewal has been made. But like in previous films and shows, Netflix typically renews a project if there is a big fanbase for it and if it reflect the numbers.

If Kill Boksoon gets renewed for a sequel, it's possible that the film could get released in April 2024. That's assuming a script has already been prepared in advance of the renewal.

The first movie started production on January 4, 2022 and was released just 14 months later. This could be the same timeframe with Kill Boksoon 2's release date.

There are two potential storylines that Kill Boksoon 2 could go with. It's possible that the sequel will directly follow the events of the first movie or a prequel would be made. If the producers choose the former, we could see Gil Bok-Soon running her own company since she already killed her bosses and she doesn't have a contract with anyone.

Her freedom from her bosses could also mean that Bok-Soon now has the chance to retire and be a full-time mom to her daughter. If this is the case, there's no more story for Kill Boksoon 2 to use. Or we could see Jae-Young's coming-of-age story as she takes over her mom's shoes.

A prequel will be the likely storyline that will be used if the film gets renewed for a part two.

We could see a young Bok-Soon and Cha Min-Kyu as they work together. It could also explain the loose ends from the film, which will give us the answer on who Jae-Young's biological father is.

If the producers will go with a direct sequel, two potential stars to return would be Jeon Do-Yeon and Kim Si-A as the mother-and-daughter. But if a prequel is in the works, the producers have already casted the actors for the role of Min-Kyu and Bok-Soon: Lee Jae-Wook and Park Se-Hyun.

Of course, nothing official has been announced at this point so it's too early to make any assumptions. We'll update this post once more information has been revealed.
