Meet Chloe, an Anime-Only Character in Spice and Wolf
Unlike Yarei who appears in both the novel and manga series, Chloe is an anime-only character from the first season of Spice and Wolf which premiered in 2008.
Previously, she replaced Yarei in the original anime series to elicit a stronger emotional response from viewers, as Yarei was male and had a less compelling bond with Lawrence.
Likewise, Chloe's interactions with Lawrence in Pasloe were unique to both the light novels and manga. Even her attempt to entice Lawrence away from Holo is a major departure from the novel and manga series.
Despite these alterations, Chloe remains the feminine counterpart of Yarei. They not only live in Pasloe Village, but they also work as competent wheat merchants and negotiators.
Additionally, Yarei and Chloe possess the same promising attributes that a merchant requires: they are progressive, talented, ambitious, professional, and determined. After all, they learned from the best travel merchant alive.
Not to mention that Chloe and Yarei share the same perceptions concerning Holo, dismissing her as an antiquated deity unworthy of respect.
Unfortunately, they strongly believe Pasloe does not need Holo, and the village's harvest will be excellent even without her benediction.

Will Chloe Be in the New Spice and Wolf Anime? Possible Appearance Explored
Yarei is in and Chloe is out. Most likely, this is what everyone is thinking after watching the first episode of the new Spice and Wolf anime.
However, many believe Chloe made a surprise appearance in the pilot episode as one of the villagers chasing Yarei at the Harvest Festival.
Notably, the female character shared Chloe's hairstyle but not her hair color. She appeared differently most likely due to the animation style, but many people assumed it was her because of her distinctive pigtails.
Given Yarei's presence in the new anime, Chloe likely has a slim chance of making an appearance as the plot progresses in the new Spice and Wolf anime.
