The release date of Sweet Home Season 2 has been announced by Netflix. And just before the show makes its premiere, let's take a look back at the characters of the thriller Kdrama. Who's dead and who's still alive in Sweet Home Season 1?
More importantly, let's take a look at the characters who will likely be returning for the second season.
Who Are the Characters Who Survived Sweet Home Season 1?
Let's start with the characters who survived in Sweet Home Season 1 and whether they will be joining Sweet Home Season 2.
Cha Hyun-soo
Cha Hyun-soo (played by Song Kang) got infected and gained healing powers. Since he has a strong desire to die, his monster transformation does not turn him evil.
At the end of Sweet Home Season 1, he surrenders himself to the South Korean military so that the other survivors can escape. He is returning in Sweet Home Season 2.
Pyeon Sang-wook
At the end of the first season, Pyeon Sang-wook (played by Lee Jin-wook) is seen driving a military truck with Hyun-soo in the backseat. There are theories that this is not really Sang-wook but the shape-shifting monster, Ui-myeong (played by Kim Sung-cheol).
Other theories suggest that he could have survived despite being infected. Either way, we'll likely see him return in the second season.
Seo Yi-kyung
Lee Si-young's character in Sweet Home, isn't actually in the original material. At the end of the first season, she joins the military hoping to get answers about her fiance.
Lee Eun-yoo and Yoon Ji-soo
Lee Eun-yoo (played by Go Min-si) is one of the survivors of Sweet Home Season 1. In the ending, she is seen riding on the back of a military truck along with Yoon Ji-soo (played by Park Gyu-young) and other survivors.
Who Are the Characters That Died in Sweet Home Season 1?
Unfortunately, Sweet Home Season 1 saw the end of several characters; some of which were fan favorites.
Here is a list of the characters who died and are presumed dead, unless they return in human form in the second or third seasons:
- Kim Nam-hee as Jung Jae-heon
- Lee Do-hyun as Lee Eun-hyuk (presumed dead)
- Go Youn-jung as Park Yoo-ri
- Kim Kap-soo as Ahn Gil-seob
- Kim Sang-ho as Han Du-sik
- Woo Hyun as Kim Suk-hyun
- Lee Bong-ryun as Im Myung-sook
These are only the important characters that we mentioned. Considering the show involves an apocalypse, there are far more deaths in the series that are too much to detail.
