Through Rebels and Ahsoka, Sabine has quietly become a main character in the Star Wars universe. With many hoping to see more of her journey, there's already tons of speculation about who Sabine might end up with by the end.
Not many Jedi get a happy ending in the romantic sense, but if there's anyone who's going to break the mould (or the canon), it's surely Sabine! So, let's explore how her story could play out.
Does Sabine Wren Have a Love Interest?
So far, there has been no clear sign that Sabine Wren has any romantic interest. Still, we can dream!
It's worth noting that for the majority of her time on screen, Sabine has been a side character, a committed and hard-headed gunslinger as part of Hera's Ghost Crew.
It's only later in Star Wars Rebels that we see more dimensions to Sabine, particularly as she and Ezra form more of a duo. Then, in Ahsoka, the story starts to revolve around her and her relationships with Ezra, Ahsoka Tano, and the force itself.
Is Ezra and Sabine the Destined Ship?
The most obvious potential pairing is Sabine and Ezra; not only do they trust each other the most, but they could also represent the next generation of Jedi, at least as far as Disney's Mando-verse is concerned.
However, it's hard to argue that there's been much romantic chemistry between the two characters so far.
Sabine and Ezra feel more like siblings than potential partners. The two regularly argue against each other during Rebels, and their early meetings in Ahsoka have a similar atmosphere.
Early Ahsoka episodes teased the idea that Sabine's almost dangerous need to be reunited with Ezra could be a sign of something more. However, any romantic feelings feel very much on ice right now.
Could Sabine Be Into Shin Hati?!
An interesting subplot for Sabine Wren shippers is Shin Hati, the apprentice force-wielder under Baylan Skoll in the Ahsoka series.
Sabine and Shin are shown as obvious rivals early in Ahsoka, with the two apprentices fighting multiple times throughout.
However, many fans have remarked on lingering looks and body language that suggest there may be something more going on under the surface.
Having a lesbian lightsaber-wielding couple would be a really interesting proposition for both Star Wars fans and potentially Disney themselves.
Still, such an endgame for Sabine and Shin would feel out of character for Star Wars, a forced movement rather than something organic, at least based on what we've seen so far.
Will Sabine End Up With Anyone?
I think it's much more likely that Sabine won't end up with anyone, at least not on screen. Very few of Star Wars' love stories have positive endings, particularly when there are Jedi involved.
Perhaps Sabine will be name-dropped in a future Star Wars release. Whether her name will be Sabine Bridger by that stage, for now, is anyone's guess.
