But, this has been debunked during the Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 where it has been announced that Lars Mikkelsen will be playing Grand Admiral Thrawn in the upcoming series of Ahsoka.
Lars Mikkelsen previously denied his involvement as Thrawn but when it was revealed that he was to play the character during the event, he personally attended and confirmed that he will play the role in Ahsoka, thus, he is expected to continue the role in Skeleton Crew.

Codenamed as Grammar Rodeo, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is expected to arrive in 2023, forming part of the Star Wars slate on Disney Plus and the production of the series started last month in Los Angeles.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will be following the defeat of the Galactic Empire as seen in Star Wars: Episode VI, Return of the Jedi in 1983, and it is the same window in the timeline with The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The three shows are expected to coincide at one point.
