Do Otis and Ruby Get Back Together in Sex Education Season 4?
No, Otis and Ruby do not get back together in Sex Education Season 4. While they do hang out in Season 4 after Ruby becomes Otis’ campaign manager, they do not get romantically involved again.
It’s clear that Ruby still has some feelings left for Otis, but the latter makes it clear to her that he’s with Maeve now.
One night, they accidentally fall asleep together in Ruby’s bed. Nothing happened between them, but Otis feels guilty about it and tells Maeve.
When Maeve comes back, Otis ignores Ruby, and the latter decides to be the campaign manager of someone else. Ruby also starts gaining friends at Cavendish College.
In the finale, Otis tells Ruby that he hopes they could still be friends, but Ruby responds that she already has a lot of friends and leaves. Ruby’s decision is probably the best for her considering that Otis “messed her around” last season and this season.
Do Otis and Maeve End Up Together in Sex Education Season 4?
No, Otis and Maeve do not end up together in Sex Education Season 4. So, Otis doesn’t end up with Ruby, but he doesn’t end up with Maeve either.
Throughout the season, Otis and Maeve try to make their long-distance relationship work. Later on, Maeve goes back to Moordale after her mother dies.
Maeve gets discouraged from becoming a writer after her teacher, Mr. Molloy, says that she doesn’t have what it takes to be one. So, Maeve decides to give up on her dreams and stay permanently in Moordale.
However, Maeve later has a deep conversation with Jean, and the latter encourages her to keep believing in herself and not let one teacher dictate her future.
Maeve then tells Otis that she’s going back to America. She explains that it has always been her dream to get out of Moordale and that she loves it out there as she feels like the best version of herself.
Otis realizes that she may not be coming back, and Maeve suggests that they can still make it work. However, Otis thinks that he will just be holding her back. So, they ultimately decide to break up. They also agree not to contact each other for a while as they think it’s for the best.
The final episode of Sex Education ends with Otis reading a letter from Maeve. Maeve says that while it hurts that they can’t be together, she will never close herself off again.
In the letter, Maeve writes, “Meeting you cracked my heart open, and now it’s forever changed. And because of that, I will carry a part of you with me wherever I go." She then thanks Otis for everything.
So, Otis does not end up with anyone in the Sex Education series finale.
