Who Called Jo "Mamma" in Constellation's Finale?
Constellation episode 8 titled These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruin closes the first season of the sci-fi drama, however, if anything, it gave more head-scratching questions to fans.
One of these questions is about the two strange bearded men who were locked down at the St. Sergius hospital.
The moment Jo hears news that she is actually pregnant, she discovers something hidden deep in the hospital that further drives fans to the edge of their seats: two older men start calling Jo "mamma" from their locked cell.
This discovery is thanks to Frederick who, despite telling Jo to get some rest and focus on getting better for her future baby, hands her the keys that let her snoop around the establishment.
By the next day, Jo asks Irena who the two men she saw were in that locked cell. Bewildered, Irena corrects Jo by telling her there was only one man in that cell.
As it turns out, the man locked in that cell was experiencing the same phenomena as she was: the two men in the room were the two versions of himself from the Red and Blue universes, which makes Jo question if there are also two iterations of herself in the series.
The man could potentially be portraying Jo's situation of having two versions of Alices calling her "mamma" in their alternate dimensions.
Constellation Ends the Series With Even More Questions
There is no doubt that even fans have confirmed their suspicions about two separate timelines existing in the universe of Constellation.
This began with the two Alices managing to communicate with one another and explains how else Jo would have two far too different memories from what she remembered in her past.
Although the series ends on a positive note that Jo is four weeks pregnant with the likelihood of "rebirthing" her Alice in her own world, Constellation is planned as a multi-season series, so stay tuned for more updates on this story.
