What Is Insomniacs After School About?
Insomniacs After School follows a high school student named Ganta Nakami who is unable to sleep at night.
He is quite unpopular in his class due to his cranky behavior. Ganta finds out the observatory, which was once used by the now-defunct astronomy club, can be the place for a quick nap.
However, he is not alone. Enter Isaki Magari, who is an insomniac too. The duo decides to share the observatory and starts to develop a bond.
Isaki and Ganta start spending time with each other as they talk about a variety of things.
Meanwhile, rumors about the members of the astronomy club keep other students away from the observatory.
Since it's mostly deserted, it is the perfect spot for their friendship to blossom into something beautiful.
However, the faculty is not willing to allow the observatory’s unsanctioned use.
If Ganta and Isaki can resurrect the astronomy club, they can continue to use it and call the observatory their home.
The Insomniacs After School anime is based on the manga of the same name by Makoto Ojiro. The manga first came out in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits magazine in May 2019.

The Insomniacs After School anime will be available to stream on HIDIVE in the US beginning April 10, 2023.
