How Much of Ishura Did the Anime's First Season Cover?

Ishura season 1 chronicles the New Demon King War saga, beginning with Sojiro the Willow Sword's introduction.

The series took its time introducing some of the most powerful anime characters, such as Sojiro the Willow Sword, who eliminated the Grand Labyrinth's Golem in episode 1, and Kia the World Word, who can use Word Arts without properly casting it, in episode 4.

The first half of the anime focused on these shuras and their skills, making it difficult for some viewers to keep up with the series' huge roster of characters.

The anime also hopped from one place to another to establish the story and the direction it was taking.

All of the key players were eventually in place by the end of the anime, when they clashed in the midst of Aureatia and Lithia's conflict.

The anime revealed which shuras worked for Lithia or Aureatia, and their storylines eventually came together.

By the end of the anime's first season, some shuras have died in the fight, but the story is far from over, especially with the approaching Hero Competition.

After the first season, anime fans can continue with the light novel series, which picks up where episode 12 left off.

It is recommended that you start with Ishura's second light novel volume, The Particle Storm in the Realm of Slaughter, which is published in digital and paperback format by Yen Press.

The second light novel volume of Ishura will bring more shuras to the story, from a near-immortal golem to an entity that can reduce everything it touches to dust.

In addition, the True Hero competition will heat up as more shuras attempt to take on the challenge.

On the contrary, the Ishura anime is ahead of the manga since the New Demon King War saga will end in the manga on May 7, 2024. The manga series will then go on a hiatus the following month.

It is still recommended to read the manga, but it’ll be harder to get your hands on them since they are not yet translated into English.
