WcDonald's is a fictional fast-food chain that has been featured in different anime and manga since 1981. It stands for the popular real-life chain McDonald's.
The first manga and anime to feature a WcDonald's restaurant was Cat's Eye. Since then, many anime have shown their characters eating at WcDonald's.
Some examples include InuYasha, Ouran High School Host Club, Assassination Classroom, and many more.
An indicative WcDonald's menu would include anything you can expect to eat in McDonald's, such as hamburgers with the Big Mac being renamed Big Wac.
Other staples include cheeseburgers, coca-cola and other soft drinks, fries, ice cream, and nuggets.
Certain anime such as The Devil is a Part-Timer! have featured other variations of McDonald's stand-ins such as MgRonald's, but no fictional chain is as popular in the anime world as WcDonald's.
McDonald's Anime Collab Explained: What Is in the WcDonald's Menu?
After more than 40 years of WcDonald's featuring in many manga and anime, McDonald's has now announced a short anime in collaboration with Studio Pierrot (home to Tokyo Ghoul, Naruto, and more).
The event will have real-life dimensions, with over 30 McDonald's restaurants temporarily tweaking their menu to give anime fans an immersive WcDonald's experience.
For a limited time, McDonald's will feature custom anime packaging and a special WcDonald's sauce.
According to information provided by McDonald's, the WcDonald's sauce has ginger, garlic, soy, and chili flakes.
It goes perfectly with the restaurant's famous McNuggets, which is renamed WcNuggets for the occasion.
Other than that, the menu isn't expected to shift significantly from the regular McDonald's experience, although the special packaging by Acky Bright will allow fans to imagine they're eating at an anime chain.
Fans will be able to scan the code in the WcDonald's packaging to access weekly manga drops.
