WTHR Anchor Leaving After A Decade of Service Due to Personal Tragedy

WTHR meteorologist Kelly Greene recently left the NBC-affiliated network. While nothing has been officially declared behind the reason for her decision, people are undoubtedly curious as to what happened to Kelly Greene from WTHR.

Meteorologist Kelly Greene Signs Off WTHR

There will always come a time when prominent figures have to leave their position due to personal reasons, and it seems that meteorologist Kelly Greene is no different after leaving WTHR.

While nothing has been disclosed about what happened to Kelly Greene who surprisingly left the WTHR channel, it is worth mentioning that Greene's husband, Paul Hansen, unfortunately passed away in October 2022.

Following his sudden death, Greene took to social media to pen a heartfelt letter for Paul Hansen:

Of course, a year is not enough to heal. Kelly Greene has been working for WTHR since 2013 and considering her fellow journalists have been supportive of her departure, we'd like to think Greene's exit has something to do with her spending more time with her family following her husband's passing.

WTHR Gives Kelly Greene a Proper Sendoff

On December 4th, WTHR prepared a short sendoff by compiling short clips of Kelly Greene's best moments throughout her 10 years as a 13News meteorologist with the title, 'We'll miss you, Kelly Green!'

"All right, before we get to the forecast, bittersweet day for us here at channel 13, Kelly's final broadcast [is] tonight and then again at 11. And Kelly, I just wanted to say, personally, you know, you're a fantastic meteorologist, but even more fantastic friend."

"And you know, she's been connected to the community. In addition to doing weather, she skated, you didn't fall on this one. So, that's good. She's been with kids right there. She's gone to the weather academy. We got to do a ghost hunt together. So much fun, and I know I'm not alone in saying we will miss you so much and we are so thankful for the time we got to spend with you over the last decade."

Following Kelly Greene's farewell on her last forecast on WTHR, her co-workers sent their best wishes for her great work for over 10 years for the network.
