The speculation surrounding the mysterious death of Carol Stuart is now being debunked in Murder in Boston, a three-episode HBO series that premiered today, December 4.

Now, you're probably wondering, is the Charles Stuart documentary on Netflix or any other streaming platform?

The Charles Stuart Documentary Series is Here

The first episode of the Charles Stuart documentary, Murder in Boston: Roots, Rampage & Reckoning just got released.

Debunking the frantic 911 call report from Charles Stuart on October 23, 1989, where his wife was allegedly shot by a Black man, the documentary series will be comprised of three parts:

The first episode, as the title suggests, will explore the 'roots' behind the relation of racism in Charlestown. The second episode will tackle the story behind the Boston police 'rampaging' Black communities, and finally, the third episode ends the series with a 'reckoning' between the involved parties.

Stuart's wife, Carol, died six hours later. Soon after, their prematurely delivered baby died, as well.

The 'hole' in the story lies in this. While Stuart himself recovered from the incident, the story remains unclear about Willie Bennett being supposedly responsible for the Stuart family's tragic ending.

The official series description for Murder in Boston: Roots, Rampage & Reckoning reads:

1989 Boston. The crack epidemic is raging, the murder rate soaring, and white flight has taken hold. Charles Stuart and his pregnant wife, Carol, are carjacked, drawn deep into a dangerous 'inner city' neighborhood, and allegedly shot by a Black man. All of Boston - and the nation - is gripped by the hunt for the suspect. What follows will reveal truths about the city... and ourselves.

Where to Watch Murder in Boston? Is It On Netflix?

As HBO said, Murder in Boston was presented by The Boston Globe and HBO Documentary Films and told viewers that the series will be available to stream on Max starting December 4.

Episode 2 will drop on December 11th, while the last episode will be released on December 18th.

Unfortunately, the Charles Stuart documentary is NOT available to watch on Netflix. It is, however, available to stream on Hulu, as an alternative to Max.

Why the Director Wants To Tell the Story

The Murder in Boston director and Newton native Jason Hehir told the Boston Globe his reason for filming the documentary:

"This is a story about the victimization of the Mission Hill community and of the Bennett family. It's clear, just from the amount of tears shed watching that footage, how much this still stays with that family and what an injustice this truly was generationally. It's the reason why I wanted to tell the story."

Overall, Hehir hopes that the documentary would lead to a 'formal public apology to the Bennet family' and that the HBO series would be a 'great healing for the community and for the family itself.'
