Botan serves as a guide in navigating the Spirit World, and she is one of the main characters who share a deep friendship with the protagonist, Yusuke Urameshi. But what happened to Botan at the end of Yu Yu Hakusho?
The Yu Yu Hakusho manga was written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. The manga has also been adapted into a live-action series that is currently streaming on Netflix.

Who Is Botan in Yu Yu Hakusho?
Botan is a spirit entrusted with the task of transporting departed souls to the Spirit World for the final judgment.
As a grim reaper, she was assigned to lead Yusuke through his trial to facilitate the return of his soul to his body and thereby bring about his resurrection.
In the beginning, she harbored skepticism toward Yusuke. However, she eventually realizes that Yusuke is a good person.
Botan is quite supportive and benevolent, though she does display a degree of clumsiness and lack of foresight.
Her demeanor is cheerful and hopeful, yet she can also be a bit timid at times. Additionally, she tends to be talkative.
What Happened to Botan at the End of Yu Yu Hakusho?
In the final chapters of the Yu Yu Hakusho manga, Shunjun informed Yusuke about the seizure of the Gate of Judgement.
Yusuke was tasked to rescue Koenma, Botan, and several other spirits after a radicalized Spirit World religious sect took control of the Gate of Judgement.
Yusuke and his team successfully infiltrated the Gates of Judgement, defeating the terrorists.
To stop the cannon aimed at the Human World, Yusuke must press the correct colored button, but the terrorist leader claimed there were three options.
Meanwhile, Botan assisted in transporting some ogres and departed with the remaining group.
In the last chapter of the manga, on a beach with Yusuke, Botan, Kuwabara, Keiko, Yukina, and Kurama, Kuwabara shared with Keiko and the rest that Yusuke picked the blue button.
The rationale behind Yusuke’s choice was simple, he picked Keiko’s favorite color – blue.
He expressed that if the kidnapped had their God, he had his own goddess, referring to Keiko, hence his selection of the blue button.
In the anime version, Botan is featured in the final episode. She was with Kurama, Kuwabara, Yukina, Shizuru, and Keiko at Genkai’s Temple and later on the beach.
Yusuke eventually reappeared after an absence of nearly a year and a half, reuniting with Keiko.
