A five-part docuseries has just been released on Hulu today, which trails the story of the polygamous Ervil LeBaron group and the number of victims who had to endure violence and abuse. One of those victims who managed to survive was Anna LeBaron, aka one of Ervil's daughters. So, what happened to Anna LeBaron after the events of Hulu's Daughters of the Cult?

What Happened to Anna LeBaron and Where Is She Now?

Telling survivor stories of escaping a cult, let alone your own family's cult is no easy task. However, Anna LeBaron knew what she had to do the moment she escaped her father Ervil LeBaron's clutches.

In a 2017 interview on BBC News, Anna LeBaron faced the media and told the whole truth behind her deceased father's crimes and how she managed to escape.

Apart from harboring 13 wives and more than 50 children under his wing, Ervil had groomed these children into thinking that polygamy was the only good way of living for the Church of the First Born of the Lamb of God.

Anna may have escaped her father at the age of 13, but she 'escaped by the skin of my teeth!'

2017 also happened to be the same year when she published her memoir, The Polygamist's Daughter, where she wrote about the community her father built around them up to how she survived despite the environment she grew up in.

What Happened To Ervil LeBaron?

In June 1979, Ervil LeBaron was taken to court and found guilty of his heinous crimes and was sentenced to life imprisonment. As per the New York Times, he died in his prison cell at the age of 56, with the report indicating he may have overdosed.

It's safe to say that Anna is in a better space away from her father while healing from the abuse and trauma she went through alongside her sister Celia LeBaron.

What is Daughters of the Cult About?

It was in 1972 when the polygamist Ervil LeBaron established the Church of the First Born of the Lamb of God.

Not only had he managed to manipulate the minds of their wives, but especially their children into what counts behind their belief circulating in their cult.

The five-part documentary series shows how Ervil became the leader of the 'Church', his sexual abuse towards young girls, grooming them into submitting to polygamist men at the ripe age of fifteen, and even his connection with the Mexican cartel.

Hulu's official synopsis of the true-crime docu-series Daughters of the Cult reads:

Survivors, relatives of killers and law enforcement now come forward to paint an emotional and gristly picture of a brutal madman ordering cold-blooded executions. Despite running from the FBI for most of their young lives, there is triumph, healing, and sisterhood for the brave few who escape and begin anew.
