Fans of Tyler Perry's ongoing Sistas series relished the new year by binge-watching the show's seventh season, but any viewer can tell something was different in the series.

The news came once season 7 premiered and fans couldn't help but notice the 'quiet' recasting of Jordan on the show, which you can check out below: Meet Sean Sagar.

Considering that Sistas had been running for six long seasons already, Jordan's sudden change of appearance was quite hard to ignore.

As fans pointed out, a lot of revelations in Sistas season 7 brought them nothing but shock over 'speeding things up' in the series. Check out some of the fan reactions below:

So, what happened to the original Jordan (before Sagar) on Sistas? This remains to be seen, which is exactly why fans are surprised to watch them recast the prominent Jordan on the show without so much as a heads-up.

While the official X (formerly Twitter) page of the show brushed off the recast, the "new" Jordan (after Sean Sagar) comes into view on Sistas season 7 episode 6 titled Pretty Hurts.

This time, Sean Sagar is replaced by Devin Way, who is best known for his roles as Dr. Blake Simms on Grey's Anatomy and Station 19, and Brodie Beaumont in Queer as Folk.

So, what's up with the instant recasting for Sistas season 7? What gives?

Sean Sagar played the role of Jordan for a short time, about half of Sistas season 6, to be exact, starting from episode 12.

Sagar addressed his exit via his official Instagram profile by posting: "To all my Sistas family, sorry I can't be on your screens and be a part of this season! But I just want to say thank you for all the messages and love you've shown me."

According to TVLine, Sagar had scheduling conflicts to blame for his departure, since the actor was cast as Special Agent DeShawn Jackson on Paramount+'s NCIS: Sydney, which premiered in November.

This time, the series spotlights Devin Way as the "new" Jordan. Though he's only been shown in one episode, we'll have to keep watching to see where the new cast member takes us this season 7.

As far as Sistas is concerned, Jordan is Andi's shiny new love interest on the show, next to being great rivals with Gary (played by Chido Nwokocha), who seeks to destroy Andi's career and quite possibly even go as far as to take her life.

Meanwhile, all episodes of Tyler Perry's Sistas are available to stream on Bet+.
