It is a known fact that one of the interesting things the Greek gods do in Percy Jackson and the Olympians is that they cannot interfere with each other's powers. What they can do is take advantage of the half-bloods. In this case, what deal does Percy Jackson make with Ares?

Percy Jackson is hardheaded and stubborn, but he becomes even more so whenever he's around Ares, the God of War. This is because Ares thrives in riling up his opponents, including demigods like Percy.

The Lightning Thief book made a perfect example of how Percy Jackson turned more into a hotheaded loose cannon than he usually was.

As Percy had realized, "Ares must love to mess with people's emotions. That was his power—cranking up the passions so badly, they clouded your ability to think." This was how the first deal was struck.

The Three Deals Ares Made with Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson made three deals with Ares in the books. The first one is that Ares wanted Percy to retrieve his shield in the Tunnel of Love from the Waterland resort.

However, this turned out to be a trap that nearly killed him, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood. Still, Percy got a small reward out of it, a confirmation that his mother was still alive.

By the second deal, Ares wanted them to go to the Lotus Casino to once again claim something for him. Unexpectedly, the trio had once again been tricked into staying at the casino for five days, leaving them one day to complete their quest.

As it turned out, the big twist was that Ares' main goal was to lead Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades into war.

As Percy had guessed, Ares wanted to keep the helm and the lightning bolt all to himself, which led him to his third deal: a duel.

"If I lose, turn me into anything you want. Take the bolt." Percy challenged the God of War, "If I win, the helm and the bolt are mine, and you have to go away."

Who Plays Ares the God of War in the Series?

Considering that the three deals happened in Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, it's only a matter of time before we get to watch the son of Poseidon's first epic showdown against a Greek god.

We'll be seeing the wrestling legend and multi-time WWE champion Adam Copeland portray the God of War soon, likely at the end of the first season, and possibly sprinkled across the middle episodes to mislead Percy, Annabeth, and Grover on their quest together.

Meanwhile, the first two episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians are available to stream on Disney+.
