Webcomic Points Out How Kylo Ren is the Representation of the Star Wars Fanbase

It's no mystery that the Star Wars fanbase includes some of the most toxic people out there, and their presence online has led to the harassment of several people who have worked on the films that they ‘hated'. Now a comic by Andrew Dobson points out why so many of them didn't like The Last Jedi.

Granted there are still people in the fanbase who aren't jerks about liking Star Wars, there is a good chunk out there who will criticize everything that comes out, and would even go so far as to blame the actual actors for doing their jobs. Even Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks) had recently opened up about nearly killing himself after The Phantom Menace wasn't received well by fans.

There's an interesting change going on in the fanbase though, and a lot of fans are trying to add a bit more positivity to Star Wars with the #ForceOutHate movement. Sure you don't have to like everything that Lucasfilm pumps out, but that doesn't mean you have to actively stop people from liking the new movies too. Plus, nobody deserves to be personally harassed for playing a character you didn't like.

#ForceOutHate continues to push forward. Hopefully we have a happy fanbase come the release of Star Wars Episode IX on Dec. 20, 2019.
