Watch Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, and the Cast of The Suicide Squad Greet James Gunn on His Birthday

The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn had his birthday on Aug. 5, and though yesterday was spent teasing the first look at his DCEU film, the cast has come together to send their warm wishes to Gunn who has turned 54-years-old.

Check it out:

While we don't really get to see any reveals about the movie, we get a good feel of everyone we're going to meet in the cast. At some point, I even forgot that frequent Gunn collaborator Michael Rooker (Yondu from GOTG) was going to be in this film.

Of course, not everyone was able to join the video message. Viola Davis wasn't able to send any message as well as Taika Waititi who will also be in the film (my guess is he's too busy buddying around with Ryan Reynolds).

Though the DCEU has experienced a major delay with Wonder Woman 1984, things still look to be going as planned for The Suicide Squad. I'd suspect that a trailer would drop around this time even without COVID-19; I guess it kind of help that there aren't many DC films being planned down the line, unlike the MCU which had to move their entire slate because everything has to come out chronologically.

For now, everyone is gearing up for a first look at The Suicide Squad with DC FanDome. We don't know what to expect yet, but hopefully, we get a full teaser. The Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters Aug. 6, 2021.
