Watch: Every Easter Egg and Reference in Birds of Prey

Birds of Prey just opened last weekend, and just like any other comic book film, it’s filled to the brim with a lot of Easter Eggs and References. Thanks to Mr. Sunday Movies on Youtube, we have an in-depth breakdown of the things that were easy to miss.

Check it out:

Though WB seems to be burying their early DCEU material under the rug, Birds of Prey kind of confirms everything that’s happened in Harley’s story so far, including being captured by Batman and being rescued from the prison by Joker. What’s more, if you stick to the end of the credits, we get an audio clip of Harley supposedly spilling a secret on Batman before the thing cuts off.

Seeing that Robert Pattinson is taking over for the Batman role, Harley’s nods to Batfleck kind of give me hope that Ben Affleck would reprise his role somewhere down the line. After all, it’s been confirmed that Pattinson’s Batman will not exist in the original continuity—that is, unless WB just decides not to address how all the other existing actors besides Bruce Wayne have been recast.

For now, Birds of Prey had underperformed on its opening weekend, despite great reviews from critics. While I would hate to acknowledge the people who are boycotting this movie because of the ‘feminist agenda,’ I think this film should have done a bit more marketing. Some also suspect that the Coronavirus Outbreak is kind of pushing people to avoid movie theaters with crowds.
