DC fans were taken aback with the recent slew of reports with regards to the post-separation court case between Pirates of the Carribean star Johnny Depp and Aquaman's Amber Heard. A new audio clip even surfaced which added fuel to the fire, with fans of Depp clamoring to get her removed from the movie sequel, and it looks like it could potentially happen.

According to We Got This Covered, their sources have revealed that Warner Bros. is actually considering replacing Heard in the sequel. The outlet says it's being actively discussed to recast the role of Mera because of the "bad press" surrounding the actress and a "huge number" of fans "turning against her" as of late.

Well, they seem pretty right about the number of fans who want her removed since the petition started by a fan has been receiving a lot of support, gaining over 200k signatures at the time of this writing.

There hasn't been any word made by WB yet. While the outlet's claims on the studio discussing a potential recast isn't confirmed, the number of people that want her out of the sequel certainly speaks for itself. That being said, the legitimacy of the said clip and accusations of Heard abusing Depp is yet to be confirmed.

For now, there's no telling what this case will result to, but it seems like Heard is still pretty much attached to the role in Aquaman 2.
