Check Out Birds of Prey's Black Canary in the Style of Justice League Unlimited

Black Canary has a very specific look in the comics, so you can imagine a lot of fans were thrown a curveball when Jurnee Smollett-Bell was cast in Birds of Prey. While Smollett-Bell doesn't have the traditional Canary look, @dceugadots on Twitter has decided to draw her Dinah Lance in the style of Bruce Timm's DC Animated Universe.

Check it out:

Seeing that Canary doesn't really have a practical superhero outfit, it would make sense that they would try to give her a more grounded get-up for Birds of Prey. If you ask me, Canary's signature look is kind of hyper-sexualized, so I can't imagine they would want to go that route in this supposedly feminist film. Though we haven't seen the classic fishnets, I'm sure the movie will hint to it at some point. Even Suicide Squad gave us Harley's classic outfit from the animated series.

The reviews are coming in for Birds of Prey, and everyone seems to be singing the same tune. A lot of people love the energy that the film has and have been making connections to the likes of John Wick and Kill Bill. There is also a lot of love going out for Ewan McGregor's Black Mask who is said to be a lot of fun to watch.

It's open season on Harley Quinn when her explosive breakup with the Joker puts a big fat target on her back. Unprotected and on the run, Quinn faces the wrath of narcissistic crime boss Black Mask, his right-hand man, Victor Zsasz, and every other thug in the city. But things soon even out for Harley when she becomes unexpected allies with three deadly women -- Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya.

Catch Birds of Prey when it hits theaters Feb. 7.
