Vincent D'Onofrio Teases Echo Series' Major Connection to Daredevil: Born Again

Last year, Vincent D'Onofrio made his triumphant return as Kingpin during the final episode of Hawkeye. While the character's fate ended on a cliffhanger, it's already been confirmed a while ago that he will be making his next MCU appearances in the upcoming series Echo and Daredevil: Born Again.

During his recent appearance at a spotlight panel in Salt Lake FanX (via ComicBook.com), D'Onofrio discussed his upcoming MCU appearances and confirmed that Echo and Daredevil: Born Again will have major connections in their story, especially in terms of Kingpin's arc.

"I have to say that in Echo, which is coming, you're going to see Alaqua Cox's performance. The woman who plays the lead in the show is just unbelievable," he said.

"We did some scenes in that that you'll be able to see everything I just told you about how I approach the character. It's full-on in the last few episodes of that show. It's going to be quite something and that leads into, of course, [Daredevil] Born Again."

It is not surprising to hear that the two shows will have story connections since we know at this point that Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin are going to appear in both projects. The interesting part with D'Onofrio's comments is his revelation that his character will play a larger role in Echo during the final batch of episodes.

Since we don't know yet what they have in store for Echo, it is hard to tell what kind of story connection is the actor referring to and how exactly they are going to tie beside the obvious fact that they are all set in the MCU. Either way, this should excite fans who are looking forward to Kingpin's next appearances after his glorious return.

The series will focus on "Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward."

Besides D'Onofrio, the cast also includes Alaqua Cox, Charlie Cox, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, and Zahn McClarnon. Mario Dayre serves as the head writer.
