As the Japanese version continues to air, HIDIVE recently confirmed that the Urusei Yatsura remake's English dub will premiere on March 1, 2023.
Along with the dub version’s surprise announcement, HIDIVE also revealed the dub’s main cast members, as well as its release schedule.
Unlike most shows which are only one or two cours in length, the Urusei Yatsura remake will run for four cours.
Urusei Yatsura English Dub Cast Announcement
Urusei Yatsura is a popular franchise that started with iconic manga artist Rumiko Takahashi's manga of the same name. The manga was then adapted into an anime series back in 1981.
Given the series’ popularity from decades ago, it came as no surprise that the remake’s cast features a selection of popular voice actors.
For instance, Lum is voiced by Sumire Uesaka (Hayase Nagatoro in Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro). Joining her as the other main character, Ataru Moroboshi, is Hiroshi Kamiya (Levi in Attack on Titan).
In the English dub, well-known voice actors were also chosen as many of the cast members have also played various popular characters from other hit titles.
Urusei Yatsura’s main English voice cast members include:
- Jade Kelly (Akira Asai in Call of the Night) as Lum
- Nathan Wilson (Torka in Made in Abyss) as Ataru
- Cat Thomas (Yumechi in Akiba Maid War) as Shinobu
- Jack Stansbury (RYO in Ya Boy Kongming!) as Mendo
- Brianna Roberts (Rena Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie) as Sakura
- John Swasey (Leif Ericson in Vinland Saga) as Cherry

Urusei Yatsura Remake's English Dub HIDIVE Release Date
While a majority of seasonal anime titles are streamed on Crunchyroll, HIDIVE is often considered the next biggest anime streaming platform in the West.
Ahead of the Fall 22 season, HIDIVE revealed that it will be the official home of Urusei Yatsura in the West, with new episodes being released weekly, shortly after their Japanese broadcast.
It may have taken a while, but finally, HIDIVE announced the show’s English dub version which will begin streaming tomorrow, March 1.
What’s interesting to note is that the first and second cours of the English dub will be streamed continuously with no breaks.
Right now, there’s no word yet on the release schedule for the series’ second half.
After all, the Japanese version has not yet announced its schedule for the third and fourth cours.
