Ubisoft's For Honor is Currently Free on Steam

Ubisoft's For Honor is an interesting little beast, as the company's new IP was considered as a flop but is still getting support from the company. It has received numerous updates and plenty of additional content, though not necessarily enough to entice those that thought the game was lacking when it launched.

However, fans might be willing to try it out again when they find out that the game is currently free on Steam. Usually, "free" games on Steam are rental-style, meaning that the title will be removed from the player's library once it's no longer free. However, For Honor can be kept by players who download it since Ubisoft is hoping that players pick up the game once the new Marching Fire expansion comes out.

The free version of the game is being advertised as the Starter Edition, though it will only be available until August 27. Still, the fact that players can keep using the game afterward is a neat bonus and could even convince those that enjoy it to buy some of the DLC, assuming they like the game of course.

It's an interesting move from Ubisoft but it does make sense since the game is more multiplayer focused than most of the company's games. The fact that plenty of content has been added since is a good thing and might even bring back jaded veterans.

For Honor is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam.
