It's truly an end of an era. The final chapter of Injustice 2 has just been released, marking the conclusion of the comic book series. Not surprisingly, Tom Taylor, who has written for Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2, posted a heartfelt thank-you note to his collaborators and fans.
Taylor shared the cover of Injustice 2 Chapter 72 on his official Facebook page along with a lengthy caption. The comic book author revealed that he was initially asked to work on the series for 16 weeks but is happy that it has extended to six years. Take a look at his post below.
Taylor also revealed that he was hesitant about taking on a project where his beloved Superman would be the bad guy. Although he admits complaining about the concept, he eventually accepted the challenge with an idea of his own.
"I wasn't going to have Superman simply snap. One tragedy wouldn't see Superman stroking a white cat and cackling… I mean, it might, but that would be because he'd rescued the cat from a tree and he was laughing at a wholesome joke - like Batman locking himself out of the Batmobile.
Sadly, loving Superman, I think I knew how to hurt him. So, to make this believable, Superman would have to try to do everything for the right reasons, but overreach, and be stopped by his best friend."
It's horrible when you have to make your heroes fail, but somebody has to do it, right, Tom? Overall, Injustice proved to be a truly compelling comic book series that held its own against the video game.
